Great Week of VBS

July 11, 2011

Vacation Bible School is one of the highlights of my year.  It’s also one of the busiest times, but I love every minute of it!  The last week of June, our church hosted Shake It Up Cafe.  Chef Basil and Chef Paprika taught the kids how Jesus shakes up our lives.  Team Pumpage, a group of youth, gathered the kids with the sounds of spoons and pots and pans.  Almost 50 adult volunteers gave up their time to care for and love on over 160 kids.  It was a great week!

Sorry no really cute pictures of kids – wanna keep things safe  🙂

It is always my goal to incorporate mission aspects into the children’s programing, to help the children look outside themselves and to help them understand ways they can help and serve no matter how old they are.  VBS week happened to coincide with our church’s night to serve dinner and lead worship at Safe House Outreach in Atlanta.  So, during VBS the kids made snickerdoodle cookies to be handed out as the dessert.  Here are some pictures of those dinners and desserts being handed out.

I love the work you’re doing with your kids! I have some great memories of VBS as a kid and I know you are giving some great memories to your church’s children.
